With his busy travel schedule (among other things, he tours with Madonna), stylist Andy Lecompte was originally skeptical about opening a namesake salon. When partner Leanne Citrone, whom he had worked with at Los Angeles' Prive and Chris McMillan Salon, found the perfect location, however, Lecompte was sold. The 2,500-square-foot space in West Hollywood, CA, has a loftlike feel that Lecompte and Citrone touched up with marble countertops, classic Takara Belmont furniture and a white tufted-leather front desk. "We wanted to create an intimate environment where clients can be serviced and pampered," Lecompte says. Clients mainly come to Andy Lecompte Salon for hair services and conditioning treatments, but can also partake in makeup, eyebrow and lash services. Roaming nail technicians give manicures and pedicures at the styling stations. "This saves our busy clients time and maximizes our potential for business without taking up space," Lecompte explains. The retail area sells Lecompte's favorite products, including Rene Furterer, Davines and Leonor Greyl, along with the blow-dryers and flat irons he uses in the salon. "Clients want to buy what you're using," he says.
