American Salon Tweets the Oscars with Jennifer MacDougall, Jason Backe and Liz Olivier

Join American Salon, celebrity stylists Jennifer MacDougall and Jason Backe and makeup artist Liz Olivier as we live tweet the 85th Annual Academy Awards and recreate the looks of the Oscars during the broadcast!

The action begins February 24, 6pm eastern time as stars begin to fill the red carpet! American Salon's Senior Editor Jolene Turner will join MacDougall, Backe and Olivier for an intimate gathering to watch the Oscars, tweet trend thoughts and let MacDougall and Olivier work their magic to recreate Oscar looks during the broadcast— all the while Backe will be dishing on his fav celebrity color looks on Twitter!

MacDougall is a hairstylist for TV, editorial and a L'Oreal Professionnel artist, and is currently working on Project Runway. She's also worked on the sets of Fashion Police, Joan Knows Best, The Real Housewives of Miami and The Real Housewives of New York City.

Backe is a highly accomplished color artist and co owner of Ted Gibson Salon; his clients include Anne Hathaway, Ashley Greene and Elettra Wiedemann Rosselini. He is also a celebrity colorist for L’Oreal Professionnel and was one of the first colorists to adopt the ammonia-free INOA hair color system.

Olivier is a fashion and film industry makeup artist originally from South Africa who is now based in New York City. Her clients have included American Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire, the film Eat. Pray, Love and behind the scenes of NY Fashion Week.

  Along with Oscar Tweeting, MacDougall and Backe join forces again at the Morrison Atelier in Laguna Beach, California on June 2 and 3rd for their class Celebrity to Reality with Jason Backe & Jennifer MacDougall.

This is a two-day demonstration and hands-on mannequin session teaching students about the art of consultation, and hair-color and high-light techniques to recreate celebrity hair-color on clients behind the chair. For more information and to register, visit SOHO Academy.
