Hanna Compton: Photoshoots!

First of all, if you've never heard of ModelMayhem.com go check it out. ModelMayhem is a networking website for anyone in the beauty industry. There you can meet anyone and everyone interested in setting up photo shoots, events, etc.  It ranges from wardrobe stylists, to photoshop wizards, to gorgeous agency models. If you're looking to build your book or find a team to work with, ModelMayhem is the place to meet people. As soon as I got my account set up I was networking and making friends, setting up photo shoots and getting compliments on my work.  Last weekend I got asked to do a photo shoot and got to work with some great agency models. Here are some pictures I got back from the shoot:

I also got to shoot again with photographer Karla Ticas for Cao Cosmetics. We had a lot more people come to our workshop this time so design team helped out with the hair while the visiting Paul Mitchell associates did the makeup. Here are a few pictures from that shoot as well:

On to my next shoot! They are having a nationwide photoshoot competition throughout all the Paul Mitchell schools in America. It is called The Next Top Photo Stylist Competition. What the students have to do is choose 5 out of 7 categories to use as inspiration for 5 hairstyles/cuts/colors. The categories are texture, avante garde, contemporary classic, color, cutting, male, and long hair upstyle. You have to set up your own photoshoots, find models, wardrobe, and a photographer and turn in the photos by September 30th. The 3 winners of the competition will get to come to Los Angeles and do a photoshoot with Lucie Doughty, the woman behind all of Paul Mitchell's advertising and images.

Along with all the photo shoots, we've been busy giving back as well. We're collecting all the hair that we cut everyday to make mats to absorb the oil that has spilled in the ocean. Plus, our school has adopted a section of Venice Beach and today we went there to clean it up and prevent the environment from further pollution. This is all a part of Paul Mitchell Schools' "Go Green Team" and its mission to keep the world green.

xoxo
