Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014 NYC: Reed Krakoff

To play off the light, airy colors and fabrics in Reed Krakoff's spring 2014 collection, hair and beauty went with fresh, simple looks. For hair, Redken Creative Consultant Guido used Redken products including Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine and Guts 10 Root Targeted Volume Spray Foam to create a chic, low ponytail. Hair was combed into a deep side part and gathered into a ponytail at the nape of the neck, then allowed to dry naturally after Diamond Oil was added. Hair extensions were used for models with shorter locks.

"It was important for the look to encompass visually interesting and modern elements; however, the overall direction needed to remain relatable," Guido said. "Yes, the look is simple, but what I really want you to take from this season is the wearability of the hair that is so prevalent in New York fashion."

For makeup, Diane Kendal created a minimalist look with an even skin tone using Mac Cosmetics. To achieve it, she dabbed a bit of concealer on the lips and did not use mascara, liner or blush--simply highlighter on cheeks in Accentuate. On eyes, she used Coffee Walnut sculpting cream. Lead nail technician Honey went with Mac's Delicate--a sheer, pale pink shade--for fingers and toes.
