Mercedes-Benz Fall/Winter 2014 Fashion Week: TOME

Ryan Lobo and Ramon Martin, the designer’s behind TOME were inspired by the works of Iranian artist Shirin Neshat and her deep interest in Egyptian singer Oum Kalthoum. Catwalk by TIGI Global Creative Director, Nick Irwin created modern and free-flowing mane to complement TOME’s vision.  The overall look was casually brushed back with slight waves and a voluminous hair line.

To achieve this “undone” look, Nick first misted the hair with water and brushed through with a flat brush. He sectioned hair horizontally, beginning at the nape and applied Catwalk by TIGI Curlesque Strong Hold Mousse to roots. Afterwards, he blew the section smooth collapsing the hair at the root, while leaving some natural movement. Next, he clipped remaining front-center section away from the sides. He brushed the sides back, blow drying smooth to the head. He clipped the side in place behind the ear and unclipped the front-center section of hair, blow drying it upwards for lift at the root. Later, he clipped hair in three horizontal sections and allowed to set for loose and separate locks. Sectioning the back into three, he sprayed Catwalk by TIGI Your Highness Firm Hold Hair Spray and used a large curling wand, running over each section. For the finishing touch, he brushed curls through with a flat brush.

Lead makeup artist for NARS Cosmetics, James Boehmer created very fresh complexions with bare eyes and lips. Applying plenty of NARS Aqua Gel Luminous moisturizer he wanted “skin looking like skin, not makeup.” For the eyes, he used NARS Black Valley eyeliner underneath the eye and slight smudged it off for a not too perfect look. Custom blended foundation shades by Morgan Taylor were applied to the nails adding a matte top coat to finish.
