Mercedes-Benz Fall 2012 Fashion Week NYC: Haus Alkire
Pumped electric nature was found throughout the hair, makeup, and clothes of design house Haus Alkire for its Fall 2012 collection. With cool lines and graphically awesome prints the designs of Julia Haus and Jason Alkire were well complemented with hair by TIGI Creative Director Nick Irwin and makeup by Lyne Desnoyers for MAC Cosmetics.
For the hair, Irwin got intricate with a crisscross-weave design on top and texturized locks flowing from the design in the back. To get the look, the top of the hair was gelled with Tigi Catwalk Session Series True Wax to look like vinyl; then the weave was set with the help of Session Series Work-It Hairspray and secured with ties to set for 30 minutes. The hair was then let loose, the bottom scrunched a bit and overall set with Session Series Finishing Hairspray. The hair was designed to look great on its own, but also with a few hats featured in the collection.
For the makeup from MAC, Desnoyers kept things Earthy and very fantasy-like with velvet matte skin, lots of sculpting with Sculpt & Shape in Bone Beige, and bold deep violet brows. "We wanted it non convetional, but still feminine," said Desnoyers. The brows were filled in with a cream called Dark Currant and the lips were covered in Peach Stock lipstick.
