Mercedes-Benz Fall 2012 Fashion Week NYC: Kimberly Ovitz

Backstage at the Kimberly Ovitz show, Eric Gomez, lead hairstylist for TIGI styled every girl with a look that was as individual as the clothing that they wore. The show was inspired by intelligent, independent women who embodied a warrior like sense.  To create this strong yet feminine look Eric first prepped the hair TIGI’s Catwalk Session Series Salt Spray, for a flexible hold that was ready to be manipulated. Hair was parted in the middle then flat-ironed for a simple and wearable look. He then applied TIGI’s Catwalk Session Series Transforming Dry Shampoo to the top of the head to take control of the hair’s texture. He left the bottom product-free so that the hair would still have movement-“reminiscent of a waterfall that splashes at the ends,” said Eric.

As for makeup, the eye brows were very strong, serving as the gateway to the warrior within each woman. MAC’s Beauty Balm was applied for a tinted effect; otherwise the model’s faces had little makeup not to take away from the strong brow.
