Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NYC Fall ‘10: Carolina Herrera

At this morning's Carolina Herrera show, Orlando Pita abandoned his usual updos and opted for simple, straight hair with a side part and a little lift. Pita prepped the hair with Moroccanoil Styling Cream throughout the entire head and Oil Treatment on the ends, then blow-dried it straight with a side part. "The Moroccanoil products gave the hair perfect quality and great shine, especially on the models whose hair is very distressed," Pita said. Once the hair was dry, Pita back-combed it a bit at the roots to give the hair a little boost without adding volume. "With such a simple style, the beauty is in the little details," he explained.

For the makeup, Diane Kendal for MAC was inspired by the Cacherel ads of the 1970s. She applied a blend of four purple shades (including a lip liner!) on the lids to create smokey eyes, mascara on the top and bottom lashes and a peachy pink blush on the apples of the cheeks, coated with lip glass for added shine.

Inspired by Herrera's classic sophistication and her collection's color palette of blues, reds and camel tones, Roxanne Valinoti painted the nails CND Chocolate Milk with a high shine topcoat.  "This color is perfect for the lady who shops on Fifth Avenue," Valinoti said. "It's the perfect ladylike neutral."
