Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2011: Suno

The Spring 2011 Suno show in Milk Studios Saturday included layered pieces and mixed patterns that translated into multidimensional hair and makeup looks. Lead Hair for Aveda Odile Gilbert described the voluminous updo as “naïve but sophisticated.” She misted Aveda Air Control hair spray and after curling with a medium barreled iron; Gilbert pinned the front for Elvis inspired volume, smoothed the sides back with Brilliant Retexturing Gel and Brilliant Spray On Shine and created a "crunchy bird’s nest of hair" with Control Force Firm Hold hair spray for a slept in feel in the back. "I was inspired by the idea of a young girl who slept in her elegant updo and kept it in the next morning,” Gilbert said. Three or four simple black barrettes clipped on the side complete the 'do.

Lead Makeup for M.A.C Carole Colombani described the look she created as "intentionally unnatural" and was based on a taupe/violet color that caught her eye on a Suno hat. The dark lips, created with layers of eye pencil, smudged together stood out against a simple face, naked lashes and eyebrows with a bit of shine on eyelids and highlight on cheeks. “Models look beautifully different,” Colombani said.
