Cosmetologists Chicago, (CC) who has a long history of giving back to salon owners and professionals in need, has recently helped five salon owners who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy, the devastating storm that ravaged the east coast. In December 2012, CC held a holiday event featuring Fabio Sementilli and his talented Wella Professionals team in which all proceeds, totaling more than $8,000, were collected for the Cosmetologists Chicago Hurricane Assistance Fund. With the help of CC Adjunct Director Frank Fulco of CosmoProf, the organization began the search for beauty professionals who needed help the most. CC President Joseph Cartagena visited one of the salons that was deeply affected by the storm, Elite Concepts Salon in Brooklyn, NY, where he presented owner Tony Fanelli with a check for $1600. Tony will be sharing some of that donation with staff members who endured personal losses from the storm.
Cosmetology Chicago has long helped those in the beauty industry, not only in the form of donations, but serving as a proud sponsor and partner for many causes and providing funds annually in the form of Presidents Scholarships, which provide salon professionals with the tools to continue their education all over the world.
