Strengthening My Strands With Pureology
I recently attended an event at Rare Salon in New York to see, firsthand, how Pureology’s new Strength Cure line works. The new line is designed to heal, strengthen and protect color-treated hair, as well as detangle and mend split-ends. The products are formulated with Asta-Repair including Astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant that heals strands. As someone with highlighted blonde hair—who also just endured a very long East Coast winter that dried out my hair—I was excited to see what this product could do for me.
Before using Strength Cure, I got an up-close view of my hair in a magnifier. Although things weren’t as bad as I imagined, I did see some split-ends and weak strands. For my treatment, my hair was washed with Strength Cure Shampoo and Conditioner. Strength Cure Restorative Masque was also used for increasing strength and shine; Fabulous Lengths for smoothing split-ends; and Split End Salve was distributed through my hair to strengthen the hair fibers and reduce breakage.
After using Strength Cure and getting a wonderful blow-out from Fatima Sheikh at Rare, I looked again at my hair in the magnifier. The results: thicker strands with no split-ends visible! (Check out the photo below of my hair in the magnifier.)
