Brittany Stevens will be the first one to tell you that she practically eats, sleeps and breathes beauty. Whether connecting with her clients at Ken Paves’ namesake salon in Beverly Hills, CA, or assisting him at a photo shoot, the devoted stylist exhibits an unmatched drive and passion for her craft. “I’m always hungry to learn new trends and techniques that propel my growth,” Stevens says. “I embrace every challenge and opportunity with enthusiasm and eagerness and can’t wait for my future to unfold.” For Stevens, the sky truly is the limit. ✂ —Kelley Donahue
My mother owned her own salon, so by age 10 I was hanging out there, sweeping up hair, answering phones and cleaning shelves. After years of watching her talent and creativity, my passion grew and the next thing you know, I was enrolled in cosmetology school.
After graduating from Xenon International Academy in Omaha, NE, I headed to Los Angeles in the hopes of landing a job. My prayers were answered when I got a gig at Privé Salon. After almost six years there, I got the chance to work for the extremely talented Ken Paves—what a blessing!
Hands down, my favorite decade is the 1950s. Who doesn’t love rockabilly or Bettie Page?
Ken Paves SelfHelp Shampoo and Conditioner, a Mason Pearson brush, Kérastase Resistance Ciment Thermique, Redken Shades EQ in 9V and long metal duckbill clips.
In life my mentors are my parents. As far as the industry goes, Ken has been a huge mentor and inspiration to me.
Every day has its own challenges, but if that weren’t the case, I wouldn’t love what I do.
BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I EVER GOT
My father always says, “Look out for yourself and let others know you as I do.” Those are the words to live by.
Getting a job at the Ken Paves Salon and then flying solo to Washington, D.C., my first week on the job to style the hair of The Biggest Loser contestants for their big reveal at the White House. That’s when I realized my hard work had paid off, and I could only go up from there.
I feel like I’ve already experienced so much, but it’s not knowing what’s next that’s the most exciting part of my career.
