Nailed Down: Royal Treatment

When Robert and Marina Torosian opened Laqué Nail Bar in 2013, they wanted to put clients’ health and safety first, while providing them with an opulent experience in a chic atmosphere. The stunning décor at both Laqué locations in North Hollywood and Beverly Hills features pedicure chairs resembling thrones, ornate chandeliers and accents of bright yellow. “Our plan was to give each Laqué location its own unique identity but still keep the signature Laqué trademarks,” says Marina. “We wanted clients to feel like royalty when getting pampered. Both Laqué locations offer every client the same luxurious amenities and hip, modern, high-energy atmosphere.” To stay true to the “nail bar” theme, the husband-and-wife named services after popular alcoholic beverages, like the Dirty Martini—a decadent experience that includes a sea salt soak, hot towel wrap, massage and choice of handmade scrub. Other amenities include a menu of complimentary drinks from champagne to pineapple mimosas. In stock is a wide variety of professional nail color from companies like OPI, Zoya, Essie, Orly, Morgan Taylor and Butter London, but Laqué also carries designer polishes from Dior, Marc Jacobs, YSL and Christian Louboutin. Despite all the glitz and glamour, the salon is dead serious when it comes to sanitation and salon hygiene. “We put our clients’ health and safety above profits,” says Marina. While the business focuses mainly on nails, Laqué also has a beauty bar that provides makeup and brow services, eyelash extensions, waxing, hair services and facial treatments, offering clients a well-rounded experience that ensures that all of their needs are met. “It’s important to be unique and original, stand out and differ from others,” says Marina, a point of view that’s reflected in Laqué’s motto: “We did not invent the nail salon; we reinvented the nail salon experience.”
