Throughout 2006, Redken 5th Avenue NYC and the b.cause foundation will lend a hand to raise funds for America's Second Harvest, the nation's largest food bank and food rescue service network. Recognizing the harsh reality that many Americans still continue to suffer from hunger in the United States, Redken and b.cause are encouraging salon professionals to mobilize their co-workers and clients to get behind the cause to offer immediate hunger relief to every family, child and elderly person who don't have the means to eat.
Ann Mincey, vice president of global communications for Redken and 2006 b.cause committee chair, recalls a recent conversation with a person at a food bank who asked her if she had ever been hungry. "I replied, 'No, I don't think I've ever been truly hungry,'" says Mincey. "Then he paused and said, 'It's an awful hurt.'A0We want to relieve this 'awful hurt' through the generous donations of salon professionals and their clients throughout 2006 by partnering with the b.cause foundation to support America Second Harvest."
Even the smallest contribution can make a difference. For every 25 cents donated, an entire bag of food will be given to those in need.
