Styling the Urban Underground collection
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Loft Hair Design & Skin Care in Escondido, CA, founder Shawna Cruise decided to transform regular San Diegoans into walking avant garde works of art—and launch an online gallery to share the results with the rest of the world.
Cruise and her staff of expert hair and makeup artists created three gallery collections—Organix, Urban Underground and Antique Nouveau—inspired by a fusion of insight from the stylists, designers and their individual muses. Each collection is accompanied by informative clips from the models and designers, using the footage to express the power of artistic inspirations behind each transformation.
“It’s time to shake things up a bit and showcase the artistic force we possess,†explains Cruise. “Our aim was to infuse some excitement into our craft, challenge ourselves and step boldly into new territory. This was also an opportunity for me to give something to my team, allowing them to showcase their creative side.â€
