Behind-the-Scenes: The Brand New American Salon July 2015

We are pleased to announce the launch of a redesigned American Salon, a labor of love that’s taken more than six months to bring to fruition. Beginning with our July edition, we have a new logo and tagline – YOUR STORY TOLD HERE – plus three brand-new departments:

  • IN BRIEF - a hit list of things that happen to be on our radar this month, from a platinum-blonde short cut we all flipped over to a makeup collection from Paris-based fashion designer Giambattista Valli for M.A.C.
  • THE CRAFT - is all about the art and craft of hairdress- ing, and this month we deconstruct three geometric haircuts from Charlie Price, walk you through a classic clipper cut, reveal the secret to better blowouts and profile Chris Rushton, NAHA’s 2014 Newcomer of the Year.
  • BETTER BUSINESS – is where you’ll find ideas that inspire success, and this month we include tips on time management from Pittsburgh salon owner Arnold Zegarelli and how adopting a three-day workweek for stylists helped improve one salon’s productivity.
  • PLUS! SPECIAL SUPPLEMENT: Doing Business in a Digital World. This all new supplement is included with the July issue of American Salon. This Better Business Supplement is devoted exclusively to successfully navigating the ever-evolving world of digital and social media.
