Beating cupid to the punch, on February 12 Guy Tang dropped a brand-new hair color line designed to make hairdressers swoon: #mydentity. Consisting of 24 crowdsourced, pre-blended shades, the range creates the most in-demand hues, from dusty lavender to rose gold. What’s more, the color is imbued with Miru-Style H-XP to protect hair from heat up to 450˚F, and all developers share a unique lavender scent—his favorite aroma. “I created #mydentity because I wanted to customize colors we all dream of,” says Tang—but that’s only part of the reason. Tang explains that he struggled to find his own identity and found it in hairdressing, so he crafted #mydentity as a way to unite hairdressers in an empowering community. After all, he says, “When you know who you are, you have the courage to do anything you dream of.”
