Matrix Imagines Big with $1 Million Scholarship Fund

Since 2011, leading professional haircare and haircolor company Matrix has connected with students, schools and salons nationwide with the “Matrix Spread the Love” program, sharing inspirational messages and stories and celebrating accomplishments. Now, striving to impact the future generation of beauty professionals in a new and powerful way, Matrix announces the launch of its million-dollar “Imagine All You Can Be Scholarship Fund,” a five-year program commitment to the beauty industry.

This past April, the first part of the program launched with the 2014 “Imagine All You Can Be Scholarship Contest” for cosmetology students nationwide. Open to existing and prospective cosmetology students, the contest invited applicants to submit a 60 to 90 second video addressing the theme, “What I Imagine I Can Be.”

The deadline for the contest was July 31st, and now that all submissions have been received, a panel of industry experts will judge each entry, looking for passion and creativity, and select 50 lucky students who will each receive a $1,000 cosmetology school scholarship. The winners will be announced on September 1st, and everyone at the company is eagerly awaiting the day—says Matrix Vice President and General Manager Paul Schiraldi, “We can’t wait to see how students demonstrate their passion, creativity and imagination.”

The “Imagine All You Can Be” fund will only continue to expand over the next five years, introducing many different new and exciting components. Following the scholarship contest, Matrix will offer a joint scholarship fund for Matrix Family level students, a unique mentorship program that will pair students with their own, individual Matrix Artists, as well as the Matrix Color Mastery scholarship program for this both advanced and rigorous color education program in New York City.

“Matrix is honored to step up our ongoing commitment to hairstylists, future hairstylists and the beauty industry,” says Schiraldi. “With these unique scholarship opportunities for cosmetology education and advanced training, the future of beauty looks brighter than ever!”
