Mercedes-Benz Fall '11 Fashion Week NYC: Duckie Brown by Paul Wilson
Paul Wilson, lead stylist for American crew, creating a gypsy-inspired look
Styling gravity-defined and gypsy-inspired looks, Paul Wilson, lead stylist for American Crew, created the runway hair for Duckie Browne's 2011 Fall and Winter collections today at The Studio in Lincoln Center. Wilson's hairstyles paired well with the new Duckie collection, adding dramatic height and texture with the help of American Crew's volume-boosting products. "The idea was to let the hair speak for itself," said Wilson. "It's about expressing individuality."
To achieve Wilson's gypsy-bohemian look, take a dime-sized amount of American Crew Boost Cream and rub into your hands. The first movement is to press the hands into the hair, working your hands around the head so the Boost Cream becomes evenly distributed. Once the product is worked through, fine tune individual sections for texture. Overall the style should have a "disheveled quality with matte" says Wilson, "but not shiny or product laden." Part two of our interview with Paul Wilson completes the look with American Crew's Boost Powder.
