Mercedes-Benz Fall/Winter 2014 Fashion Week: Peter Som
Peter Som described his Fall 2014 collection as “tailored silhouettes with a sixties Parisian vibe that gives way to feminine Moroccan-inspired flou.”His collection is all about giving a nod to the sixties but with more bohemian feel. To reflect the collection, Wella Professionals Creative Director Eugene Souleiman, created hair looks that were all about a fun-loving woman with an opinion and a personality. “This girl projects a current take on traditional desirability-she’s has a bad girl feeling to her," says Eugene. The hair was styled to look rough in texture, with streaks of subtle hued extensions.
To create the look, Wella Professionals Top Artist, Alex Matiz, chose a color palette of cool washed tones from Wella’s Illimuna Color’s new Naturals Collection. Alex crafted custom natural hair extensions, first prepping them with Wella Professionals Oil reflections to lock in shine and moisture. She then colored the extensions, creating cool golden tones with hints of lilac.
For the hairstyle, Eugene washed and conditioned the hair using Wella Professionals Brilliance Shampoo, Conditioner, and Treatment and then blew it dry using a round brush to create volume and natural curl at the tips. He then sprayed the hair with Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Spray to create a matte texture. Adding the extension pieces throughout the hair, he then focused on the roots with a blow dryer for extra lift. He used his fingertips to massage the roots of the hair to create an imperfect roughness. He completed the look with Wella Professionals Stay Essential Finishing Spray and placed a bobby pin on one side.
For the nails, the nail technicians at Zoya used a modern color blocking technique with neutral colors from the Peter Som Nail Palette. The colors included Zoya Charlotte (natural), Severine, (naturally metallic) and Anais (charcoal black metallic).
