The indefatigable Odile Gilbert was at it again backstage at 3.1 Phillip Lim, this time creating Blondie-inspired rock 'n' roll hair as lead stylist for Phyto. To produce fluffy curls, Gilbert applied Phyto Professional Intense Volume mousse, then parted the hair in the center and curled it with a curling iron. Next she sprayed Phytovolume Actif Volumizing Spray on the hair and applied heat, then flipped the bangs out and sprayed them with Phytolaque Soie Hairspray. Finally, she sprayed the entire look with Phyto Professional Workable Holding Spray then turned the head upside down and ruffled the hair. Lest short-haired girls feel left out of the '70s-inspired fun, Gilbert created a special look just for them. "We're doing the short hair like an umbrella," she said, gesturing a flipped up motion on top of the head.

The makeup, created by Lisa Butler, lead makeup artist for Nars, was a disco-punk look that featured sculpted pink eyelids, gray pencil liner, mascara and a soft sandy pink lip. Finishing the look, lead nail tech Angi Wingle for CND used CND Creamy Cameo on the nails and created a French manicure on toes with a Gold Chrome tip.
