Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2013: Lela Rose

The Lela Rose Fall 2013 collection is all about fairy-tales. Her whimsical creations were inspired by such tales as the Brothers Grimm and Hansel and Gretel. Lela chose Ted Gibson’s hairstyling team, led by Senior Stylist Devin Toth, to create mythical and magical hair for the runway that would mirror her vision. To achieve the look, hair was sprayed with Ted Gibson Beautiful Hold Hairspray, which was used before and after styling. The creative process really took hold when hair was separated and wrapped with coiled foil that created figure eight’s around the head. After sitting for a while, the foils were released to reveal loose and voluminous waves. Hair was then pulled back with fingers, teased and tucked back with bobby pins. For the extra touch of fantasy, a single barrette was placed in each of model’s hair.

To complement the ethereal look, make-up artist, Romy Soleimani applied Stila Cosmetics Sweet Pea Rouge on the cheeks and Stila Lip Color in Sonya, for a flushed, just out of the cold affect. Deborah Lippman’s debut nail color, “I Wanna Be Sedated,” was applied to the hands and feet. This textured yellow hue is part of her Punk Rock collection, which will be launching in July 2013.
