Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014 NYC: David Hart

The David Hart Spring 2014 men’s collection drew inspiration from a Hawaiian holiday vacation with coordinating colors and tiki-inspired fabrics. Kien Hoang, Artistic Educator for Oribe Hair Care, created the hair look for the men in relation to the designer’s collection and inspiration. The hair was tricky but very natural, the stylist said, as if they had been on a holiday. Complementing the spring collection, Hoang created a beach-like style with a mature twist.

To create the look, Hoang prepped the hair with Oribe Foundation Mist followed by Surfcomber Tousled Texture Mousse. He then loosened the hair his fingers more a more texturized style before drying the hair naturally with a blow-dryer. To finish the look, Hoang applied Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray for a matte finish on all the men and continued to apply Soft Dry Conditioner Spray for select models creating a more polished look.

For the face, Aveda Global Artist Janessa Paré applied Inner Light Mineral Dual Foundation before adding a darker hue from cheek to cheek to give the skin a sun-kissed, not bronze, skin-tone. Her inspiration for the men’s make-up was holiday living in Hawaii. She wanted to create rawness for the models to play-up the designer’s vision. “This season you will see that the men are manly,” she says.
