Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014 NYC: Honor

Giovanna Randall, the head designer and CEO of Honor, imagined fireflies in a forest of birch trees at the darkest hour before dawn for the Honor Spring 2014 collection. The idea was the transition of the end of something to a new beginning.

To emphasis the clothes epitomizing this look, hairdresser James Pecis created an ethereal side pony complete with delicate flower pins adorning the hair to provide a look of flowers caught in the hair after a quick roll in the grass. To achieve the look that had volume and shine, Pecis used a T3Featherweight Luxe 2i to blow dry the hair while spraying Phyto Phytovolume Actif Volumizer spray on the roots in layers to prep hair while creating strength.

A side part was set with heat using Phyto Phytokeratin Thermal Protectant. The hair was then curled and set in individual pin curls. Once cooled, the curls were released and brushed into loose waves and then secured in a side pony. The style was finished with Phyto Professional Workable Holding Spray. Flower pins were then added.

Deborah Lippman was on hand to ensure ethereal and decadent nails. She took her inspiration from a pair of Tabitha Simmons shoes used in the show. Nails were mid-length with a point and adorned with a Swarovski rhinestone pyramid at the base. Nails were lacquered with Deborah Lippman La Vie En Rose and finished with Gel Lab Top Coat. Then stones were applied.

For the makeup, Romy Soleimani used Kevyn Aucoin cosmetics to create a dewy look making the face all about the skin with a light, smoky eye.
