Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014 NYC: Mara Hoffman

Color, prints and gorgeous tribal chic was at the forefront of the Spring 2014 Mara Hoffman collection. Drawing inspiration from light, happiness and the rainbow for its positivity, the collection was full of prismatic color in both classic and new shapes. The hair, makeup and nails perfectly epitomized the look.

Nick Irwin, TIGI global creative director created exaggerated and embellished braids to coincide with the collection. To get the look Irwin prepped hair with Catwalk by TIGI Curlesque Strong Mouse working form root to ends and then setting a strong center part.

The hair was then separated in two sections and French braids began directly behind the ear while working small, loose wefts into the braid to create an exaggerated length. Catwalk by TIGI Session Series True Wax was used to keep hair sleek and in place, braids were then secured and set with Catwalk by TIGI Sleek Mystique Look Lock Hairspray.

A colorful woven belt bound the two braids together at the nape of the neck and for added shine throughout, Catwalk by Tigi Your Highness Weightless Shine Spray was spritzed on the crown and hairline.

Manicurist Honey created gorgeous sunset-inspired nails using Maybelline's Born With It on the base of the nail and hand painting Orange Fix in a sunrise motif toward nail tips.

Makeup artist Alice Lane for Maybelline created a sun-kissed look with a touch of 1970's glam in the way of a slight streak of purple under the eyes. And on the lips Celestial Coral for a true pop of summer.
