Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014 NYC: Rag & Bone

Guido created the hair for the show and Gucci Westman created the makeup look.

Inspired by the “real girl” with a downtown grunge and a Kate Moss edge, the Rag & Bone Spring 2014 collection called for a wearable, trendsetting beauty look.

Redken Creative Consultant Guido wanted to create re-invented style, which called for two key products. To create the look, Guido created a center part before applying Satinwear 02 Ultimate Blow-Dry Lotion by Redken to help the hair dry naturally with a blow-dryer. He then used Forceful 23 Super Strength Finishing Spray on the top of the head down to the ears, creating a wet-look. His interpretation draws focus to the ears giving the models a charming, young girl look.

Revlon’s Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman was inspired by the morning after a night out and wanted to play up the designer’s hipster look by creating a luminous face with minimal eye make-up and paired with a bold matte orange lip. Westman used two key products to create the look, Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balm Mischievous and Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Carnival, available spring 2014. “This is the first time rag & bone has ever done a lip look like this. We decided to go with a bold lip because it fit so well with the clothes this season,” he said.

For the nails, celebrity manicurist Jin Soon Choi wanted a maintained tough look to compliment the collection. Choi polished the nails and toes with three coats of Revlon Nail Enamel in Sheer Sweetie.
