Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014 NYC: Tracy Reese

Designer Tracy Reese drew inspiration from Afro-Cuban culture for her Spring/Summer 2014 collection. For the runway, Tracy envisioned natural waves and flow “a woman who embraces the texture of her hair.” This is where Ouidad Creative Director, Morgan Willhite and her team of stylists took over to showcase their talents as the experts in textured hair. “Waves and relaxed bed head styles are all the rage right now and will continue to be a growing trend in 2014," said Morgan. "No matter what hair texture, these effortless looks can be achieved with appropriate tools and styling products. Texture can be incorporated into knots and free flowing hair styles. This type of look is simple, carefree and chic.” Morgan and her team created effortless yet sophisticated up styled textured knots that were soft with lots of movement. To achieve the look the team used Oiudad Wave Create Sea Spray, Wave create Texture Taffy, Play Curling Volumizing Styling Spray and Salon Series by Ouidad Mongongo Oil Multi Use Hair Treatment.

Tracy Reese collaborated with Sally Hansen to create three exclusive nail colors to complement the collection’s detailed fabrics and colorful prints. The vibrant shades included Carnivale, Mojito and Batbano Blue.
