Mordechai for Phyto backstage
To complement Victor de Souza's futuristic spring '10 show, Mordechai, lead stylist for Phyto, created a textured updo with a flattened roll at the back of the head. "It has an androgynous feel in the front, but the back is chic and feminine," he says. To get the look, Mordechai first crimped the hair, then pinned the top back using a figure-eight pin set. Next, he pinned the back with large clips to flatten it, then rolled the hair up into a flattened roll, pinning it in place and removing the clips. Phyto Volume Actif volumizer spray and Phyto Pro Intense Volume Mousse 12 provided texture, while Phytolaque and Phytolaque Soie hairspray held the look in place.
CND created striking black nails for the show that were long and pointed like talons, some featuring flashes of metallic white gold at the base, while makeup artist Yajaira Velazquez gave the models' faces a soft spring look, with a porcelain complexion, pastel pinks and greens on the eyes, and pastel gold and pink on the lips.
