Meanwhile, Tom Pecheux, lead makeup artist for Estee Lauder, told me he was breaking all the rules to create a striking orange-hued eye, quite a departure from the brand's consumer friendly look. "We're being naughty and playing with lipstick," he told me. Pecheux blended an orange liner and two shades of hot orange lipstick and applied the shade to the base of the upper lid to achieve the bold color, then added a white graphic triangle under the eyebrow, finishing with mascara. Lips were nude with a hint of sheen.
