NAHA 2017: Aveda Unveils Liquid Life and Wins Big

This past weekend at the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), Aveda’s Liquid Life collection, led by Aveda Global Creative Director Antoinette Beenders, set the precedence for showcasing stunning hair styling. The collection drew inspiration from Aveda's passion and mission to protect clean water.

Liquid Life is an homage to our incredible network of artists who work diligently to protect clean water throughout the world, every April, during Earth month and beyond. Since 2007, the Aveda network, along with our guests, have raised more than $50 million dollars for clean water. And, I am in absolute awe of our network’s dedication, passion and drive to caring for our planet," says Beenders.

The brand’s dedication to the environment doesn’t stop there. "At Aveda, we have a deep and inclusive commitment to social responsibility that has been implemented within our business in wide-ranging ways," says Dave Rapaport, Vice President, Earth and Community Care for Aveda. "With this commitment, we aspire to benefit everyone we touch throughout the life cycles of our products, from the communities where we source key natural raw materials, to those in which we manufacture and operate, to our professional network and their guests, and ultimately the planet.”

To honor the brand's social responsibility and movements towards a more sustainable environment, the artistic tribute Liquid Life featured models in hairstyles that appeared liquid-esque when they walked the runway. And, each model wore an an acrylic piece that evoked the look of splashing water. Eco glitter, sequins and recycled crystals adorned the intricate hair styles that incorporated finger waves, geometric cuts and vivid hues created by Ian Michael Black, Aveda Global Artistic Director, Hair Color.
