Spring 2011 Fashion: Blanc de Chine

Blanc de Chine chose to show their Spring 2011 collection in October rather than during the busy Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week that takes place in September. The men's and women's show, which was held last night at the store's glamorous 5th Avenue location in Midtown Manhattan, featured Asian-inspired dresses and tunics and skinny pants for women and lot's of collarless suits for men. Amanda Jenkins, master stylist at Arrojo Studio in New York City, created hair looks for the models to complement the looks. Jenkins gave the guys a "proper gentleman" look by slicking the hair back using Arrojo Gel and Texture Paste for a shiny but not too wet-looking or hard appearance. She sprayed just a bit of Sebastian Professional hairspray at the end for hold. For the girls, Jenkins created different variations of buns for each model, many featuring twists. She used Arrojo Gel, Texture Paste and Hair Cream to create the look, and finished by spraying the hair with Sebastian Shaper to tame flyaways.
