American Salon's Lotus Abrams with honoree Yosh Toya

The International Salon and Spa Expo (ISSE) Midwest show, in cooperation with the Professional Beauty Association (PBA), will host the National Cosmetology Association’s (NCA) Legends & Icons Charity Gala on March 27, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, IL, to honor industry leaders who have made an impact on the professional beauty field and the lives of salon professionals. The gala’s 2011 honorees are industry educator and salon owner Yosh Toya (legend) and Beth Minardi (icon), celebrity hair colorist and co-owner of Minardi Salon in New York City. Co-chaired by Mark Goodman, PBA’s licensed professional (NCA) section president, and Bruce Selan, vice president of Zotos International and chair of PBA’s board of directors, the event will begin at 7:00 pm and include a cocktail reception, dinner and award presentation. All proceeds from the evening will benefit the NCA CARES Fund, a fundraising effort that includes three salon community charities supported by the PBA that are directly connected to the beauty profession: Look Good…Feel Better, CUT IT OUT/Salons Against Domestic Abuse and the NCA Disaster Relief Fund. The gala’s ticket price for PBA and NCA members is $150 and $175 for non-members. To purchase tickets, please register online for the ISSE Midwest at probeauty.org/issemw.
