Tucked away in midtown Atlanta, Studio Oliver is definitely a hidden gem. Opened by former Bumble and Bumble education director Oliver Bacchus in 1997, the 10-station salon recently underwent a total renovation as part of its rebranding as a full-service beauty bar. “I’m constantly reinventing myself,” says Bacchus. “I wanted to create a quality experience and make it more about a beauty bar than just a hair salon.” Clients lie back and relax on horizontal shampoo beds with cushioned, built-in ledges that apply controlled pressure to sensitive points. They can also sip on complimentary beer or champagne while browsing the beauty bar menu that offers airbrush tanning and makeup application. The salon currently offers a weekly, in-salon education program, and Bacchus says a second location is in the works.
