Doctor Q&A: I'm Exhibiting Mild Symptoms; Do I Quarantine Individually or as a Family?

You asked, and we've got answers. Dr. Kevin J. Aister, an emergency medicine physician, is here to answer your Coronavirus questions. With such an unprecedented pandemic, there are no bad questions—a lot of misinformation is circulating on social media and the web, so it's important to consult official resources and medical professionals. Here's the next Q&A of the day:

Q: I'm exhibiting mild symptoms; Do I quarantine individually or as a family?

A: You should immediately begin "home isolation," which is separating yourself from other people in your home. As much as possible, you should stay in a specific “sick room” and away from other people in your home. Use a separate bathroom, if available. Also, you should restrict contact with pets and other animals, just like you would around other people.
