How To Get the Bachelorette's Rose-Worthy Waves

Katie Thurston, the new star of this season's "Bachelorette," is already winning viewers over as a fan favorite. The 30-year-old Washington native has made it known that she loves outdoorsy activities (and even took one of her dates fishing in this week's episode), but that doesn't mean she isn't equally glamorous.

Following last week's premiere, Thurston pulled out all the stops for her appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel." Here, makeup artist and hairstylist Nora Doench explains how she achieved Thurston's rose-worthy waves for the occasion.

  1. To prep hair, use #TEXTURIZA Spray before using a curling iron. This creates a little extra hold and bounce to the style.
  2. Using a 1½-inch curling iron, alternate the direction of the curls to get more texture and volume. After finishing the waves, I apply TEXTURIZA Finishing Foam throughout the hair with my fingers to loosen the curls a bit and to create extra hold, then brush through. This gives the hair a nice bounce.
  3. To finish, use MAXCONTROL Spray to diminish flyaways, spraying onto fingers and then smoothing the front part of the hair for sleekness.
