For three days last November, 3,500 Aveda professionals from 17 countries converged in Minneapolis to attend the first Congress since the passing of Aveda founder Horst Rechelbacher. In his honor, the event was named Spirit. “This Congress celebrates the spirit of Horst, who brought us all together,” said Aveda global president Dominique Conseil, who reminded attendees to recall the loving passion which led them to beauty school. The highlight of the event was a dramatic stage presentation created and presented by Aveda global creative director Antoinette Beenders called “Symphony of the Senses,” which celebrated the five natural elements—water, earth, infinity, air and fire.
