A Sparkling (And Pricey) Way to Hide Your Roots

When Charlize Theron didn't have time to get her roots done before the SAG Awards, she opted to accessorize her part with a $15,000 tennis bracelet. Is there any better distraction than a blinding set of diamonds? The actress called on celebrity stylist, Virtue Labs creative director and BE Expert Adir Abergel to bring the bedazzled style to life.

“The look is a futuristic take on 1920s glamour," Abergel says. "The minute I saw the clean lines of Charlize’s two-piece outfit, I knew that I wanted the hair to mimic the qualities of the fabric—shiny and reflective. I added a powerful and modern detail to the look with a diamond tennis bracelet for that extra shine and modern feel.”

To achieve the center-parted, high-shine pixie, Abergel began by applying a combination of NEW Virtue Healing Oilthe first of its kind multi-tasking treatment oil and reparative protein in one and Virtue Un-Frizz Cream on her towel-dried, clean hair. He then created a perfect center part following the bridge of the nose and collapsed the hair completely flat to the head with Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer Professional Edition, using the wide-tooth comb attachment, setting clips throughout to secure in place.

To secure the jewelry he braided a tiny cornrow along the center part and with a very fine clear thread he then sewed the diamond tennis bracelet onto the braid foundation. When recreating, he advises to ensure the accessory falls just below your clients' hairline and drops down onto the very top of their forehead.

Tidy up any fly aways and add a high-shine finish with Virtue Healing Oil. Lock the look in place by spraying Virtue Shaping Spray and diffuse again for extra hold.
