Color How-To: Cinnamon Hot Chocolate

Just like the name implies, this color is incredibly similar to something you might sip on a cold winter night. Over the course of multiple appointments, Michaela O'Keefe (@hairbymichaelaokeefe), a San Diego-based balayage specialist, painted a decedent blend of warm chocolate and red undertones on her client to create the perfect winter shade. Here's how:

Get the look:

*Client was a previous red head.

  • Start by doing a full head color using L'Oréal Professionnel Dia Richesse 4N as the base, alternating 4N and 5.07 on the ends.
  • Second session, balayage using Power Blonde Clay Lightener 40vol with insulated application. Process with no heat for about 30 minutes.
  • Gloss with Redken Shades EQ 6GN + 8WG to maintain the color's warmth.
