Texture and Woven Styles Intertwine in Angelo Seminara's Collection

Angelo Seminara has long been admired for his wondrous ability to transform hair into eye-defying and mind-blowing designs. But it’s his latest body of work, seen exclusively on these pages, that reaches a new level of inventiveness and takes artistry to new heights. The looks showcase Tatami, Seminara’s intricate technique that achieves an unbelievable subtlety of texture. “The looks are both intricately complex and startlingly tactile,” says the internationally acclaimed and award-winning artist. “Whether woven or plaited, knotted or strung, each one exudes opulence and femininity.“

Angelo Seminara relied on woven hair and plaits to lend added impact.

Seminara created sections of frothy, feather-like texture to fashion this intricate updo.

A woven cap-like shape created with Seminara’s Tatami technique is juxtaposed with long, blonde locks.

Seminara added interest to this look by crafting separate finely woven textured sections on the sides and in the crown.

A voluminous crown and tactile side sections  help create a stunning focal point in this design.

Seminara incorporated his weaving technique and spaghetti-like textured strands to achieve this radical take on the traditional updo.
