We're only a week into spring but one thing is clear: The shag is back and it's already one of the season's hottest trends. Sarah Hyland, the Modern Family actress who debuted the cut over the weekend, is the latest to take on the textured style, and we're predicting many others will follow suit.

The makeover is a far departure from Hyland's usual style—like the long, smooth strands she posted on her Instagram just a few weeks back—but she pulls off the new look incredibly well. "Sarah is embracing her natural texture and length," says Nikki Lee, Hyland's stylist at California's hotspot Nine Zero One salon. "The look is perfect for festival season, and looks best on naturally curly or wavy hair."

If your client doesn’t have that natural texture, fear not. Lee calls on a line of products she recently launched with her Nine Zero One co-owner and friend, Riawna Capri. "In Common's Magic Myst is my go-to product to add healthy texture," Lee says. The universal exlir works on all hair types—who’s next?
