Custom Color: dpHUE colorBAR

I STARTED DPHUE AFTER YEARS of frustration with coloring my hair. As my grays started to multiply, so did my salon visits. The breaking point was when I was going out of town and noticed that my hair needed a touch up. I couldn’t get into my salon and I had fears about trying drugstore hair color,” says Donna Pohlad, founder and CEO of dpHUE. After successfully debuting the dpHUE colorBAR Salon in Minneapolis in 2011, Pohlad opened a second location in Studio City, CA to offer women and men on the go, various hair color services on demand like all over color, highlights, semi-permanent color, glossings and root touch ups, seven days a week without appointments. “Traditionally, women have had to choose between drugstore boxed hair color and salon services. dpHUE colorBAR is the new option in hair color. But what makes us really different is our salon quality hair color is also available to take home and DIY. dpHUE color advisors are available to help formulate your custom hair color and teach you application techniques so you get perfect salon results at home,” says Pohlad. Take home kits start at $38, with in-salon applications starting at an upcharge of $25.
