4 Nail Designs You Need This Holiday Season

December is only days away and that means one thing—it's finally socially acceptable to go into full-on holiday mode. We're talking tacky sweaters, festive salon decorations, and giving your clients decorative nail art to add that finishing touch to their holiday outfits. Here, celebrity manicurist Jini Lim breaks down four winter nail designs that you can add to your rotation. 

LOOK ONE: 

"This design reminds me of the bright stars on a cold winter night," Lim says on her inspiration.

  1. Start by applying a thin layer of here to stay base coat
  2. Apply sights on nightlights on each nail 
  3. Alternating between the tip of the nail and the base, use a thin brush tool to create the shape of a star and fill in with million mile hues 
  4. Seal with speed.setter top coat

LOOK TWO:

"It's almost like candy canes for grown ups," Lim says.

  1. Start by applying a thin layer of here to stay base coat 
  2. Apply just the way you arctic to each nail 
  3. Using a thin brush tool, paint a wavy line in each color using polar-izing, million mile hues, glow with the flow, hear me aurora and sights on night lights 
  4. Seal with speed.setter top coat 

LOOK THREE:

"This set is like the perfect holiday gift right on your nails—all the presents wrapped up nicely," Lim says.

  1. Apply a thin layer of here to stay base coat 
  2. Apply just the way you arctic on each nail 
  3. Using a striping tool and million mile hues, paint two thin lines across the center of the nail in the shape of a cross 
  4. Using a thin brush tool and sights on nightlights, paint two thin lines in the shape of an “L” on the left side of the nail
  5. Using hear me aurora, fill in the right side and tip of the nail
  6. Seal with speed.setter top coat 

LOOK FOUR: 

"This look is fun because it’s like having Christmas ornaments on your nails," Lim says. "It's perfect for subtle Christmas spirit."

  1. Apply a thin layer of here to stay base coat 
  2. Apply million mile hues to each nail  
  3. Using hear me aurora, paint the tip of the nail leaving a half moon of gold underneath 
  4. Seal with speed.setter top coat
