It was a night of inspiration at the 1st Annual Hairbrained Video Awards which took place on Sunday March 9, at the Arena nightclub in New York City. In collaboration with IBS NY, the awards recognized hairdressers who truly capture the heart, spirit and creativity of their craft through video. I was honored to present an award in front of an exuberant crowd of beauty professionals that included celebrity stylists Nick Arrojo and Rodney Cutler among others.
All entries that were submitted throughout 2013 were considered eligible for a nomination. A panel of judges chose from a pool of exceptional nominees, a winner in each of six categories, and the overall Grand Prize Winner. The categories included step-by-step, business advice, avant garde, low to no budget, humor and coaching. The winners received cash prizes to help with future endeavors, while $5,000 was awarded to the HVA Video of The Year.
