SALON LA VIE
Jacksonville, FL's Salon La Vie may have been in business for only one year, but it's already attracted a devoted, high-end clientele. "The idea behind the salon was to create a one-stop beauty center," says Artistic Director and Senior Partner Eli Vital. Salon La Vie offers clients, who hail primarily from places like New York, Connecticut and Washington, D.C., haircuts and haircolor, along with Botox, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, waxing, facials, makeup application, and manicures and pedicures in an upscale environment.
The 3,500-square-foot salon features 20-foot ceilings and curving, half-height walls that divide up the space for different services while preserving an open atmosphere. Artwork from several of the salon's staff members hangs on the walls, and opalescent floor tiles from Spain, white styling chairs and tangerine hydraulic chairs in the shampoo area complete the bold, chic look.
What really sets Salon La Vie apart from its competition, however, is the staff's professionalism and expertise, according to Vital. The experience at Salon La Vie begins with a consultation, where stylists talk to clients about the look they'd like to achieve and make recommendations for treatments and products, followed by a shampoo, customized hair treatment, hand massage and hot towel wrapped around the hair or face. Before clients leave, they are treated to a complimentary makeup application. "We reach out to our guests to make sure they feel special," Vital says. "When clients leave here they look great and they feel wonderful." —L.A.
