As an editor in this industry, and based in New York City, I often get the wonderful opportunity of checking out all the hot salons of the city. A few weeks ago I got such a chance when I was invited to Rare, a cutting-edge salon in New York City's Tribeca neighborhood.
Formerly owned by Pureology Colour Ambassador Ruth Roche—who is still on board as the salon's creative director—Rare is currently owned and operated by celebrated stylist and colorist Fatima Sheikh, hand-selected by Roche to continue the salon's vision as well as head the salon's school, Rare Academy.
Fatima took her time to tell me about the salon and her work while treating me to a special Rare service for beautifying my locks. Once completed, I was certain that my hair had turned into silk!
