Amazon shook the retail world yet again this week, this time in the professional beauty sector. On June 24, the e-commerce giant announced the Amazon Professional Beauty Store, a new online page enabling hairstylists, barbers and estheticians to buy all the essential products for their business in one place.
“Stylists can find more of what they need at great prices with convenient delivery options, freeing up their time to focus on what's important: their customers,” says Steve Kann, director of Customer Driven Experience at Amazon Business.
In order to access the store and its products, shoppers must set up a free Amazon Business account and upload a state-issued cosmetology, esthetician or barber’s license. Brands like Wella, Oribe, ghd, R+Co, Paul Mitchell, RUSK, OPI Professional and others that are typically found in salons and spas will be available for purchase.
