After celebrating at a Saturday evening awards presentation, where 400 beauty and industry pros were honored, attendees turned their eyes to Monday's main stage. A talented tour de force of hairdressers, including Van Council and the Van Michael Team, editorial stylist Ted Gibson, London's Ian Michael Black and Greg Morgan, and Charlie Morris Price, provided an exciting glimpse of global beauty trends. For his part, Aveda founder Horst Rechelbacher nearly brought the house down when he navigated his way through a series of fashionable cuts that ranged from sleek looks to soft waves. "Learning how to make hair move is real hairdressing," said Rechelbacher, who's celebrating 50 years in the industry this year. "You must be able to adapt today's trendy styles so they satisfy your clients." Attendees were also able to take advantage of educational booth exhibits, spa and guest care seminars and workshops.

The event culminated with an exciting evening of fashion and beauty, where some of the top names in beauty got really creative. Among the highlights: Van Council and the Van Michael Team showcased red-hot Asian-inspired looks; Charlie Morris Price's models sported long flowing manes; and Rechelbacher and his team shined a spotlight on angelic, natural-looking hair. Summing it all up, Holzberger said, "We planned to give our customers the best of the best with this show. Our goal was to inspire, instill creativity and motivate the audience, whether they were senior stylists or new talent, and I think we achieved that."
