In this American Salon exclusive, Asian-inspired beauty and samurai style triumph.

For his latest collection, titled Asian Warrior, Rush Artistic Team member and previous British Hairdressing Awards winner Seung-Ki Baek tapped into his Korean heritage and samurai culture. “My vision was to create powerful and strong silhouettes using bold colors and origami-inspired details incorporated with sharp lines,” Baek says. He also looked to Korean architecture and the plaited styles found in fall/winter 2014 fashion shows like Alexander McQueen’s for “a recreation of Asian beauty,” he says. “A lot of Asian looks and cultures are still not discovered in the modern world, so I wanted to introduce my own interpretation.
