Aveda Designs Sleek Hair for Stella McCartney Show

Designer Stella McCartney tapped the eco-conscious beauty line Aveda and Global Creative Director Antoinette Beenders to create hairstyles for her autumn presentations in Tokyo and Hong Kong last week. Local hairdressers supported the Aveda Team to style all the models, creating a groomed  ponytail for the Tokyo show.

“Stella was looking for a slicker look to match the beautifully tailored masculine/feminine cut of this stunning collection,” Beenders said. “Our models had a variety of global hair textures from fine to curly and course, so achieving sleek isn't a given.” She prepped hair with Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair and Smooth Infusion Style Prep before blow-drying straight with a large round brush. She flat-ironed strands and added light hold section by section with Air Control. After smoothing, locks were pulled into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck. She then misted the pony with Air Control and wrapped a small section of hair around the elastic and pinned underneath. To finish Beenders smoothed the ponytail again with a flat iron and set with another spritz of Air Control.
