Bain de Terre named the winners of its “WIN-Spiration” Contest, held May 1 to July 31. The natural haircare brand asked entrants to think up their most creative nature-inspired styles, and winners were chosen by a panel of haircare professionals. Votes posted on Bain de Terre’s Facebook page were also considered in determining a winner.
Andreea Danis of Nevada was awarded the grand prize of $1,000 for her winning style, “Hawaiian Paradise Falls,” a mixture of braids and waves embellished with carnations. Danis, a native of Romania, left her home country in 2007—where she was studying mathematics and computer science—for the United States to pursue her love of hair. Four runners-up were chosen for their intricate styles including Aubree Siddons of Indiana for her “Nature Goddess” hairdo (first); Charissa Poppe of Wisconsin for her “Gaia” look (second); Sarah Glass of Colorado for her “Spring Sensation” style (third); and Lisa Lechner of Delaware for “Braid Tree” (fourth--seen in picture at left). Runners-up were given a year’s supply of Bain de Terre products from the collection of their choice.
